Thanks, Mada. I opted for iTunes gift cards this year, and a box of real chocolates (Whitman's sampler--yum!)for the family to share that I know will get eaten. Isn't it funny what gifts endure from childhood?

If you're looking at an 11th hour thing again this year, here's a thought. Years later, I have no clue what kind of candy my mom put in our baskets. I do know that there wasn't much in the way of candy. What I DO remember is that she always selected a non-candy gift for each of us. Years later, I still remember a few of those, the highlight being a long Betty Boop sweatshirt with glitter writing on it. Also, the grass was in our baskets until that morning, then we were allowed to keep our baskets but the grass had to get picked up and put in a baggie so it wouldn't wind up everywhere.
